Adult Nursing Personal Statement Example 9
"To me, fearless is not the absence of fear. It's not being completely unafraid. To me, fearless is having fears. Fearless is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, fearless is living in spite of those things that scare you to death".
This quote was written by a young song writer/artist named Taylor Swift and it is my motto for everything. No matter what brings you down you must always get back up, brush yourself off, and stand back up to what brought you down and stare it right in the face.
Throughout life people are constantly struggling to get through the obstacles thrown in their way, and I think the most beautiful thing is people who have the courage to break through the obstacles and continue their journey.
There are plenty of times where I thought I would never be able to get back up and continue, but the constant generosity of others and thoughts of my future have created me hope for the future, and the drive to keep going. No matter what happens.
The most I have ever struggled was during my three years in middle school. During this time my parents got divorced, I was pushed out of my comfort zone, made new friends, and experienced being a minority.
Through these years I grew the most I ever have, not physically, but emotionally. Every day I went to school I was teased about being Caucasian in an almost complete Hispanic school, and I had never realized that anyone was even different than anyone else.
I was raised to look at everyone as equals and never judge someone on their skin color, religion or anything, but here were these people telling me that I was different, and I was a problem.
Finally throughout the years I was able to prove that I was not the only white girl in class but I was a human just like them, and was accepted for who I was.
Though so many times I came home crying and trying to move to a different school my parents encouraged me to continue attending, and I am so glad I did.
I realised that everyone thinks differently, but given a chance, you can prove to him or her that maybe they are wrong and you can be friends.
Those three years helped point me to what I wanted to do as a career. I knew I wanted to help people in some way shape or form; I want to be able to make a difference in other peoples lives.
After brainstorming many different ideas, I finally came to my decision. I wanted to be a nurse.
It made so much sense, I love being with people and I love being able to be the help anyone in need. To me a doctor seems too aggressive and they are just there to solve the problem, but a nurse is there to discuss what is wrong with someone and what the doctor can do to help. A nurse is the go between and to me are more involved with talking to the patient, which I would love.
To live up to my dream to become a nurse I have been talking to my mom's friend who is a nurse in Tucson. She has made me realise that this is a goal that I can and will be able to accomplish.
To do this I first plan on attending ASU and doing the exploratory program for health and life sciences, I think this will be a good way to gradually go into the health department.
After that I plan on joining a nursing program to further my goal.
At first I had applied at ASU just to leave my options open about where I wanted to go, but I visited and talked to my cousin who is attending and set my goal there.
I have always loved the Phoenix area and since it is growing so much and so fast there are always options open and different things to try. I was frightened at first by how big the campus was, but after realising it, this could be amazing.
There will always be new people to meet and new activities to try, never a dull moment, and I am already so use to a big campus at my high school.
My school is one of the largest in the city so there were always clubs and volunteer projects to do.
During my time I participated in three different blood drives, one during my junior year and two during my senior year. I had an internship at Toms Shoes, which is an organisation who sells shoes and for each shoe bought they donate a shoe to an underprivileged child with no shoes.
I was also apart of my photography club while in the advanced class and winning first place in a contest at the U of A and a third place prize at the Arizona State Fair. Currently I am pursuing an Endorsement in the technology area, focusing on photography.
All in all I do not think I have accomplished all I wanted to during my high school career, but I am very proud of what I have done. During my freshman year I had a few set backs and some unusual changes in my life.
My parents had gotten divorced and it was very hard for me to go to a new school and have to keep switching houses every so often, I was not pleased with how it was going. Although I was still able to maintain my advanced classes I do not think I got the highest grades I could have. I was able to make these grades up in my later years and kept a 3.09 GPA.
My mom is my rock and keeps everyone in the house, my two sisters and I grounded and healthy,
I think everyone should live their life fearless, and be able to pursue anything they have their mind set on. I never think someone should be able to pull you down, everyone is worth it.

This is just for a scholarship and I had to answer all the questions, I know it is REALLY long, but I do not know where to cut back at. I hate writing about my awards and bragging about myself so this was really hard for me. I know its not up to par but it is just a rough draft that I have been working on over the days. Please help me edit!!

omg this is the worst statement that i have read. If you would become a nurse, I would be scared if you would have to look after me or anyone else for that matter.
Please do start again, maybe read some information online on how to write personal statements etc.
Good Luck!
