Is it OK to defer my application?

Most universities and colleges will allow you to defer your entry for a year, as they recognise the value of taking a gap year. However, it’s a good idea to check with them before applying.

When you are completing your UCAS application form, talk about why you are intending to take a gap year, what you will do and what you hope to gain from it. This will lend support to your application by providing valid reasons for deferring your entry.
