2. Why are you interested in this subject?:
My interest in applying for this course is to acquire project management skills and qualifications needed to enable me become a professional Project manager. It's a career I have desired since graduating from university.
In my past employment experience, I have been fascinated by the challenges that working in a project management position in bring. I Intend to work in this area in the future and I am fully committed to developing my professional skills to allow me succeed and work to the fullest of my potential. Acquiring these skills will also place me in a position to fully contribute to the success of programs I will be a part of.
Project management is an invaluable integral part of implementing successful projects in whatever economic, political or social field, which not only rests on the quality of the project’s goals, but also on the abilities of those involved in the project –especially on all those who are managing it – to bring it to successful completion.
In my desire to be able to contribute to the implementation and success of projects in the social field, knowledge and skill in project management are most important.
As the world continually experience unforeseen natural disasters and social crisis' , the demand for highly skilled project Managers are required to mitigate these crisis's. My aim to be counted among those tasked to enable these projects to succeed and come to successful completion. Therefore it imperative that I acquire knowledge and skill in this area. And with the alumina that you institution has in producing excellent project managers, it is my ambition to be trained there. I was fascinated by the recent establishment of the Syrian refugee camp in Jordan.
1. Why are you applying for this course?:
My Name Alexander C Mwila. I am a graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Development Studies and Pubic administration from the University of Zambia. My ambition is to study project management in order build a career as project Manager and work as a Humanitarian Aid worker in the future. In order to become a successful Project manager, it is essential for me to attain Knowledge and skills. My interest in project Management started back during my under graduate studies when I was attached to a Humanitarian aid relief project as partial fulfilment of my degree program. I found deep fulfilment in being a part of achieving the project objectives.
Over the course of my professional life I have been involved in humanitarian aid projects and successfully completed project assignments involving spearheading the developing and implementing a computerised logistic management information system to track and monitor relief aid distribution in Zambia and Liberia
In so doing I have become aware of the significance that project management plays and the many varied challenges that face projects and the project managers assigned to them.
Through this work experience I gained a perspective which has allowed me to grasp how objectives can be met through the use of effective project management processes and techniques.I am positive that project management plays an invaluable part in humanitarian projects which can not be ignored.
